Potted Time was created by two creatives, Tam Vo and Jill Taymany. In their Los Angeles apartment in April 2020. Naturally, it felt right to infuse creative arts and plants. Potted Time discovered a way to make plant ownership approachable and fun. They created a successful brand that has great energy and personality. Through cohesive branding and creative strategy, Potted Time made joining plant parenthood easy and digestible for all levels of expertise.
The pandemic started a wave of plant ownership. We get it, you’re stuck inside and you definitely want to love your space. Overnight there were so many new plant enthusiasts. But where do you get healthy and thriving plants when so many plant nurseries were closed due to the pandemic? Potted Time saw this problem and became the connecting force for both local and e-commerce.
In addition to providing beautiful plants, rare plants, and pottery, Potted Time introduced a unique, handmade basketball planter. The basketball planter was definitely the highlight and most requested product. Potted Time can’t take full credit for this unique creation, it was an inspiration by Bodega Rose, and other artisans on Etsy. It was really neat to see different approaches to a basketball planter.
Potted Time also had a helpline, where the community could reach out for anything plant related. From repotting plants to how to get rid of unwanted critters. The secret is neem oil.
Potted Time offered virtual consultations and plant installations, in which they termed it, planterior. This service helped an existing or soon-to-be plant parent design the planterior for their personal living and professional spaces. This service helped narrow down the best plants to provide the most optimal foliage for a relaxing environment for both plants & plant-parents to thrive. By relying on some factors such as sunlight, aesthetics, and space.
Amazing to see how much Potted Time was able to achieve in just a short amount of six months. Potted Time gained over 6,500 followers on Instagram (@pottedtime) organically, over 15 planterior home & office designs, appeared in two magazines, Architectural Digest and GAP Magazine, two public events, free give aways, and great community support.
Potted Time connected with local communities, and made new connections all over the US, during a time where we felt so disconnected and isolated. They highlighted and supported local businesses. Plant ownership has proven to be therapeutic and Potted Time is so proud to be a small part of providing happiness during these unprecedented times.
